1. Battery Specifications

Babaru's built-in battery is a rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery. The table below lists the information required under the EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542.

3. Hazardous Substances & Materials

This battery does not contain mercury, cadmium, or lead above the thresholds set by EU law.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, this battery contains the following hazardous substances: nickel, nickel hydroxide, cobalt oxide, potassium hydroxide, and sodium hydroxide.

Critical raw materials present above 0.1% by weight: cobalt, manganese, natural graphite, and battery-grade nickel.

4. Battery Safety

Please read and follow these safety guidelines:

  • Use only the specified AA800 rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery.
  • Do not use Babaru if the battery is damaged, swollen, leaking, or deformed.
  • Do not puncture, crush, disassemble, or expose the battery to fire or excessive heat.
  • Keep the battery away from water and other liquids.
  • Charging should always be supervised by an adult.
  • If Babaru becomes unusually hot, stop using it and let it cool in a safe, open area.
  • Do not attempt to modify the battery.

5. Charging Instructions

Charge Babaru using the included USB cable and a power source rated between 2.5 W and 15 W.

Do not leave Babaru charging unattended for extended periods, including overnight.

6. Battery Access

To confirm before publishing:

Whether Babaru's battery is sewn in and non-removable, or accessible through a battery compartment. If non-removable, this section should state the battery is not designed to be removed or replaced by the user, and direct end-of-life or fault cases to Support. If user-accessible, this section should give step-by-step removal and replacement instructions instead. Do not publish this page until this is settled with the hardware team.

7. Recycling & Disposal

Babaru's battery must not be disposed of with household waste. Look for the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the packaging.

  • Do not place the battery in household waste.
  • Do not incinerate the battery.
  • Take Babaru to a designated battery or electronics recycling collection point at end of life.
  • Contact us if you need help locating a collection point or arranging disposal.
